Wear it so that the cord is facing the outside of your ankle. If you are a regular footer, the cord part is located on the right side of your body. This position makes it harder for the leash to get entangled in your backfoot when you pop up.

Surfers often bend their ankles while riding. It is not desirable for the straps to be too tight when the ankle is bent.

Wrap the leash strap tightly with the ankle bent deeply as shown in Fig. B. This will make it easier for you to bend your ankles while riding.
